DS4J Daisies New Release

Hi there!

Today is New Release Sunday at DigiStamps4Joy and  I used the new digi called Daisies to create this week's card.  I thought this image was so pretty and reminded me of spring, so I was very eager to use it!

I love the CAS look of this one!  I initially planned on using different patterned paper, but my son was being ever-so-helpful and was giving me loads of wonderful suggestions on what to use. When he picked this one out, it looked better than what I had so I went with it :)

I colored the daisies with Copic markers and embossed the entire front of the card base before adhering the paper together.  For the flags, I colored little white pieces of paper with the same Copics I used to color the image, and I did some stamping on top of them.  I stamped a script font on the blue tag, stripes on the green and polka dots on the yellow.  The white dots didn't show up very well, so I took a Colorless Blender and made random dots of varying sizes and that worked just fine.

I used the sketch challenge posted by CAS(E) this Sketch (below) for this card's design and will be submitting it to their challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hop on over to the DS4J blog to see the other new releases and what the rest of Team A came up with. Party Time Tuesdays Watercolor Flowers

Happy Tuesday! It's the first Tuesday of March so that means that our new challenge starts at Party Time Tuesdays. We had a lot of fabulous entries last month and I'm looking forward to seeing what this month brings. As always, the theme is "Anything Goes", so whip up something great and join us in the fun!

I thought this would be the perfect time to share this card I made using the Flower Stamps by Oriental Trading. It appears like these stamps are discontinued, but they do have a number of other stamps on the site and the prices are great!

I used Strathmore Watercolor Paper and stamped the flowers in Distress Ink, then spitzed them with the tiniest amount of water just to get a bit of a watercolor effect.  I thought it was such a pretty CAS card and I love the look of the flowers :) I finished it off with a sentiment and pretty purple floss.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Please take a minute and leave a comment letting me know what you think :)

I'm submitting my card to the following challenges:

Get Lucky--NON #13--It Ain't Easy Being Green

Hello again! I'm back with another post today for Naughty or Nice's challenge this month--It Ain't Easy Being Green! This was a ton of fun! It was one of those cards that just came together, which was nice since I had major crafter's block with one of my other projects just yesterday.

I knew I wanted to do something with St. Patty's Day. I've got Irish blood running through my veins, so it just seemed like the natural way to go. I initially thought "leprechaun!" but decided to go with green beer instead :)

I cut the beer mugs with my Silhouette then colored the beer with Copics. I knew I wanted to go with a naughty card this month and thought these little love struck faces would go great with the sentiment. I fussy cut the beer foam, and I'm not the best fussy cutter in the world, so there are some flaws, and even though they bother me, I like to tell myself that it's OK because it's handmade ;) I didn't have a sentiment, so when this happens, I just jump on my computer and create exactly what I want. It works great! After printing and cutting the size I wanted, I folded the paper into a banner. It's hard to see from the photo, but it has a lot of dimension and kind of bounces off the card. My son picked out this ribbon the other day and I thought it was so cute and perfect for the theme. It was an easy way to add more shamrocks :)

Embossed Watercolor Background--DS4J Challenge #110

Hi friends :)

Today starts a new, fun challenge at DigiStamps4Joy!  The theme is wet or dry embossing, using the color red.  Now, I just so happen to love the color red and was excited to use so much of it in a project. I actually had crafter's block for a while and the few cards I tried to make didn't turn out at all, then hours after just being at a complete loss, it hit me! I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do.

And I'm in love....

Oh my goodness. Isn't it gorgeous?! I love how the colors work so well together how clean it is. One of my favorites by far!

I made the background using a background stamp, embossing powder, water and Distress Inks. I also added some Perfect Pearls to add a bit of sparkle. This technique is quite fun and the results can be so beautiful! The sentiment is in DS4J's Sunshine Set.  I really love this sentiment because it's one you could use with all sorts of cards.  I added a yellow ribbon and some Liquid Pearls to add a little more interest to the white space to finish it off :)

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you liked my take on the challenge. Please visit DS4J's blog to see what else my talented teammates whipped up!
